 Benefits of Strength Training

• Strength training gives you an overall improvement in your ability to improve your strength, endurance, coordination and balance.

• Increased in size and tone of musculature. Even in elderly people, strength can increase significantly with mild strength training.

• Increased joint stability as the result of bone, ligament and tendon density.

• Reduction of risk of injury from the improvement of physical capacity to do more work.

• Increases the ratio of muscle mass to fat to improve your calorie burning metabolic function.

Benefits of Balance Training

• Balance is important to every physical activity. Without maintaining a strong sense of balance, you may not be able to meet the balance challenges of your preferred exercise. At best, losing your balance sees you fall to the ground, but at worst, lack of adequate balance can result in an injury. When was the last time you tried to walk down a narrow ledge? Kids do it all the time; they are developing their balance. Adults can do just the same, either by following their kids (or trying to, from the looks of most parents!) or by taking up a hobby that requires balance such as skating, rollerblading, skiing, yoga, etc.
