Pregnancy And Childbirth

These conditions can give rise to many emotions, often extreme, and pregnant women can help themselves and their unborn child by taking the relevant essences.

During and after the birth, a combination of Rescue Remedy and Walnut is particularly useful; the mother can sip this during labour, and should continue to take it afterwards. In neutralising any negative feelings she may be subject to, she will also benefit her child. External application of Rescue Remedy can also benefit both mother and child. Star of Bethlehem can be given to both mother and child after a difficult labour.

Childhood Problems

Babies and children can be given Bach Flower Essences with complete safety and very good results. Children and babies suffer from many emotions and go through times of stress and unhappiness; dealing with these in childhood can help them to grow up happily and healthily. The essences should be chosen for children in exactly the same way as for adults. Whether the child is suffering from a physical illness,or is fretful, unhappy, or difficult for no obvious reason, the child's personality and current characteristics are the guide to the required essence or combination of essences.

The dosage is also the same as for adults: 4 drops prepared with boiled water for babies, and given with milk, water or fruit juice. When the baby is being breast-fed, it is sufficient for the mother to take the essence. The dosage should be repeated 4 times a day until child has recovered.
